About Ken Lerner
I started taking photographs when I was 6. Being the son of a renowned photographer, it was only natural for me to have a camera in my hands at an early age. I was not interested in photographing a real moment perfectly - I was interested in projecting an internal view of that moment, a subjective reality- my early work was almost exclusively multiple-exposures In 2015, after a career in financial sales, I returned to photography. But I decided to produce only single exposure images. Though less complicated structurally, they still represent a subjective view of the world, being almost totally abstract. I work a lot with reflective surfaces (water, glass, metal). Though I mainly do abstract, geometric and minimalist artworks at the present time, I am in awe at the beauty in nature, thus I still do some of landscapes and seascapes. I'm interested in presenting different possibilities of how this "nature" could be imagined, and often produce many variations of an image with different coloration, shading, contrast, and saturation.
